The Snowmass Balloon Festival is one of the most anticipated annual events in the Aspen area, offering a spectacular display of vibrant hot air balloons set against the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains. Each day of the festival kicks off with a breathtaking morning balloon ascent, where over 30 hot air balloons take to the skies at dawn, creating a mesmerizing panorama of color. The ascensions begin at 7:30 AM from the Snowmass Town Park, providing a perfect opportunity for early risers to witness this awe-inspiring sight. In addition to the balloon ascensions, the festival features the Balloon Night Glow in the evenings from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, where the balloons are grounded during the sunset, creating in a captivating glow as the sunsets over the horizon with the balloons lighting up from the colors.
The festival also includes live music, food trucks, and kids' activities, making it a family-friendly event. Entry to the Snowmass Balloon Festival is free, and there are plenty of vantage points around Snowmass Village to enjoy the view.
